If during the reflash, the software asks to preserve the current CCF, don't. More than likely the CCF that's currently there is corrupt and is causing a problem.
I've only seen the screen in the condition you describe one time. That was on my Marantz RC9200 and I somehow had a corrupt CCF generated with SNL and the CCF compiler.
