Hello all,

I've been away from the forum a bit busy with other matters.

Yesterday I pushed to icon on my home page to watch cable and was directed to my audio system instead. When I pressed on the audio system icon I got the TV device. In all 4 of my home icons exhibit this trait while the other six function correctly. The emulator in the software does exactly the same thing! Yet the buttons show the proper coding when selected in Edit.

I'm stumped! Anyone have any ideas?

Did you check to see if the home panel is write protected?

What do you mean? You can't edit the home buttons coding, can you?

As Rob is suggesting you could be seeing the home panel automatically generated by your Pronto. To see your custom version, you must uncheck Home Panel is Write Protected.

King,

Yes, the home screen was write protected. I removed the write protection which fixed the problem but now the ProntoPro/Emulator power up with the first device on the screen. While this is preferable to the other problem, I would prefer the home screen on powerup.

When ever the "home panel is write protected" box is unchecked, it will start up at the first panel of the first device.

There is no reason to have to start at the home panel, or 1 panel of 1 device.

The reason why, the only times that it will start up is after downloads, firmware updates, manual or auto restarts.

If you read the FAQ, it explains how to change the startup behaviour using a combination of the home device name and the write protected checkbox. And, as Rob says, you only see this each time the unit is rebooted. Once your configuration is settled down, you won't see it again (at least not very often).

Rob & Peter,

Perhaps I am not following you. For years I have followed the directions in the FAQs to have the ProntoPro start up in the home screen (checking the write protect box and naming the home screen: h-o-m-e.
Only lately did I encounter the erratic behavior I cited in my origanal post.

A few weeks ago I ran out of memory so I deleted a "start screen" I had before the home screen so I could cram a few more DVD picture screens in my ccf. Again the home screen came up first and no problems. Then yesterday after I substituted a DVD picture of the new version of Robin Hood for the old one and download the ccf into the ProntoPro the problem started.

Paul, are you close to being out of memory? I sure wish Phillips would release a ProntoPro with more memory!

Not out of memory, I'm a newbie (less than a week)
Rob makes sense, not really a problem.
