Has anybody actually gotten the cable from Philips yet? If so, how long did it take from the time you registered your unit.

Thanks

Bryan,
I have a bmp file that happens to be a pinout drawing of the required cable. I am also checking into getting them in bulk. Of course I think there has been discussion that they will be free from the source...we'll see.
Want a drawing?

would be a good thing to test the file-areas here!
I think a lot of people are interested in the pinout!

It beats me why Philips didn't just package the
cable with the Pronto to begin with, since they are distributing software via web, it woulda cut
down on hassle factor.

Andy,

Suffice it to say that there was a good reason at the time that cables weren't supplied. Perhaps one day I will be able to elaborate.

PS. The cable we're talking about is very simple and low cost. Two very common connectors and a piece of wire. Can be made up for under $10 perhaps even $5 from any Radio Shack store and a little solder.
I appreciate the "lack of hassle" though...Up to the maker as is always the case.
Look at the bright side, when you get/see ProntoEdit, the cable will be a minor issue.

Yeah, I'd love to see the sketch. I agree that it might be a good test for the file area here.

I'm sure I'll love ProntoEdit. I'll just be gnawing to use it but without the cable, it's not much good...

Bryan,
ProntoEdit without the cable is of extreme good.
You see there's a life sized on screen emulator in ProntoEdit so you can admire(check) your work before loading. And yes, the actual buttons do work on the emulator.
So, all is well.

I am considering the pronto, and would like to check out this prontoedit application.
Where can I download it?

Robin,
The Prontoedit software has not as yet been officially released.
Jack Schultz has a pre-release version of the software that he is testing for Philips.
When available you should be able to download the software from the Philips web site
(Provided you have registered with them). The software will probable be available after 1/10.
