Suffice it to say that there was a good reason at the time that cables weren't supplied. Perhaps one day I will be able to elaborate.

PS. The cable we're talking about is very simple and low cost. Two very common connectors and a piece of wire. Can be made up for under $10 perhaps even $5 from any Radio Shack store and a little solder.
I appreciate the "lack of hassle" though...Up to the maker as is always the case.
Look at the bright side, when you get/see ProntoEdit, the cable will be a minor issue.
