Hey now...first post here. I've been through a few touchscreens including the RCA's, one-for-all's and the Ucommands and I have been unhappy with each. I am now considering two options:

1. A refurbished TS1000
2. A new NEO

Looking for some very general advice as to which might be better and why. I'm very excited at the potential to customize via my PC. I'm above average computer literate but not a programmer by any means. Basically looking for a ergonomic, functional, fully customizable remote and would really appreciate any advice from others who have used both. I've read all the FAQ' on this site and I'm still not sure which would be the better option. The TS1000 looks to be a slightly better (but older) model which is tried and true. The NEO seems newer, not quite as technical and still somewhat problematic. Am I on the right track here? Thanks for any advice!!!

for the 1000 all the info can be found at [Link: remotecentral.com]

the Pronto has a larger screen, the Neo has more hard buttons.

The Pronto has been around since 98, the NEO about a year now.

The file area for the Pronto is much larger then that of the NEO

For the NEO you need to use user created utilities to get full functionality, while PE has most of those functionalities built in.

Go with the TSU500. It's light and easy to use right out of the box. I tried the TSU2000 and found it clunky and slow, even though it has twice the memeory. Also, I wanted the 4 arrow / enter hard buttons. I have programed all 6 of my remotes plus macros and still have 98% memory left. The TSU500 allows true one handed operation, also.

If you have any menu driven components like sat tv, you will really like having the hard buttons on the neo, I have both and really only use the neo
