I have a Sony 875 300+1 changer. I like it, but it has some serious bugs. I've considered replacing it with the later Sony model, but from what I've read, that model shares many of the same quirks.

What's new in this arena? Anything on the horizon? I'd like to switch, but not unless there's something better out there that's not all the way in the $1000 price range.

There are 2 current Sonys and just about nothing else. Haven't seen any rumors, either. The 777ES model has some better features than the standard one apparently, but still isn't anything that would make me leap for joy. Something like $6-700 MSRP.

I purchased 3 of the 777ES's form SounSeller.com - great people to deal with. The units sell for $599- some time they have a "B" stock unit for less. I purchased one of the "B" stock units and it was perfect. The 777's are outstanding changers.

Hey Mark, in case you are interested ...

I picked my 3 changers up for $360 a pop at Circuity City. I also got 5 year service plans on each. I tried to price match CDW's advertised price at the time which was closer to $350 as I recall. They met me most of the way which I found acceptable.

The main reason I picked them up at CC was so that I had a local place to deal with. I got 5 year service plans on each which are worth their weight in gold. I've had many products lemon'd out by Circuit City over the past 12 plus years after needing that 3rd repair. In each case I've always been given a full store credit for my original sales receipt, even 6 years after that fact in one case with a service plan I extended out. Never a hastle, never an item they refused to fix or said was not broke when it was. When dropping something off for service that item has always been returned within a weeks time or so as well. Very solid turn around time, at least in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. area. I don't know if you are state side and have CC's in your area, but it is something to consider.

Cool. Good to know Lowpro. I'll have to think about doing that. Although, my 200 disc player has been running a solid 3 days now without a failure, so maybe there was just some dirt or something causiing the alignment problem, and has worked it's way loose. Scary. Oh well, it's only money.

Thanks,
Mark
