How about another "Snatch" scene in which Gorgeous Georgefights the Pikey for a caravan. The monologue that follows Georges massive shot to the jaw is awesome; "...for Tommys sake, he'd better hope Gorgeous George isn't dead."
Another great scene that almost made me throw up(and I've seen it a hundred times before) after watching it with a good HT, was the baseball bat scene in the cornfeild in "Casino", unbelievible sounds going on there.
For sheer nostalgic purposes, the soundtrack from "Dazed and Confused" is awesome. Every scene starts out with a bad"butt" tune, right on man.
Probably the best gun fight Hollywood ever produced was the bank robbery in downtown L.A. in "Heat". Crank your HT up on that scene and you're there, chaos is the topic there.
I'd like to hear of some off the wall movies that may have escaped me from the past, any suggestions?

First of all... awesome topic. I always talk about these 'moments of shiver' with guys at work... I didn't know if many people had these same feelings from TV, music, movies or books... it seems they do. In no particular order (and a mighty strange lot to be sure)... my shiver moments...

Transformers: The Movie

When Optimus confronts Megatron in the dark hallway within Autobot city...
Megatron: Prime!
Optimus: One shall stand, one shall fall.
Megatron: Why throw away your life so wrecklessly?
Optimus: That's a question you should ask yourself, Megatron. <--- insert ~shiver~ here.

Braveheart

When William Wallace comes back and gives Murron a thistle wrapped in cloth and she suddenly remembers giving it to him when they were children - and realizes he kept it all this time. Mass shivers also attributed to James Horner's haunting musical piece 'Gift Of A Thistle' that swells during Murron's realization.

Forrest Gump

When Forrest says the line, "Why do you hate me, Jenny?"

Willow

Whenever James Horner's main theme crescendos.

Rocky

When Rocky screams for Adrienne at the end.

Rocky IV

When Rocky is in his sportscar remembering Apollo through a series of flashbacks and the soundtrack song 'No Easy Way Out' by Robert Tepper is playing.

The Neverending Story

When Atreyu is screaming for his horse Artax to fight the swamps of sadness but to no avail...

The Lion King

When Rafiki holds up the just-born future king Simba and the soundtrack swells to the 'Circle of Life'

That's it for now... but there are many more.

Thanks for reading!

in "Wait Until Dark" when Alan Arkin jumps out after you think he has been killed or knocked out, I don't remember which.

Then again later when Audrey turns out the lights and suddenly it is HER world he is screwing with....
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

In "Desparate, She want's it all." when Jeana Fine chucks the powered up hair dryer into the bathtub of her nemesis.

In Godfather III when Don Lucasi gets stabbed with his own eyeglasses.

In Godfather II when Fredo says the Hail Mary on the boat.

In The Godfather when Pauli describes a lot of matresses as having been exterminated. Also in same movie when Clemenza greats Carlo with the line, "Hello Carlo." and a garrote.

In "The Color of Money" when Paul Newmann breaks the rack and annouces to Tom Cruze that he is back.

In "Risky Business" when Tom Cruze's father anounces that he got accepted to the Ivy league school.

In "The Hustler" when Paul Newmann wins a bet by shooting a trickshot that is now named after the movie.

In "Coming to America" when Simi first finds out that the King is in NYC.

Scotty: "He's dead already!"

In "OFF LIMITS" when the vietnamese policeman says to fred ward " You are outgunned here today" and Ward mutters "When will you people ever learn, we are never outgunned!" then a huey gunship pops up over the crowd with a door gunner pointing an M-60. Great american flavor.

The Ring (Japanese Version)

When Sadako moves towards and finally crawls out of the TV screen!

Her twitchy movements and her clawing on the carpet. Cinema classic.

The Man in The Iron Mask (with DiCaprio) -- When the musketeers come charging unharmed out of the cloud of gunpowder smoke.

Ernie: Re - Wait Until Dark. "Shiver," hell! When I saw it on the big screen, I levitated about three feet straight up screaming! That sucker (Alan Arkin) was supposed to be DEAD, man! Luckily I wasn't embarrassed, most of the theater was hovering and screaming right next to me...

Great topic, Vincent. Now that you've got me thinking about it, "I'll be back."

The Changeling, George C Scott, around '71: The pounding. The pushchair. The bathtub. Under the floor in the boy's bedroom.

Darkness Falls (yes, really): The whole surround effect when the Tooth Fairy is around.

Starship Troopers: When Roughnecks are in the mormon compound and all the bugs come over the hill.

I'll be thinking about this all night now, and I'll be back tomorrow with more.
