Well, according to Amazon, I get email from them stating that "Universal Remote MX-900 40-Device IR/RF PC Programmable Remote (418-mhz)(Discontinued by Manufacturer)" is product of North Korea!!!!
And they don't just want me to stop selling it, which I haven't for some time, but make sure all mx-900 ads are deleted from my account, moving it to out of stock isn't enough. I guess since it just says manufactured in Korea, they can't tell if its North or South. What about all the other URC remotes?

And there is probably no one you can contact, to set them straight on their error either.
I thought about it though... Is there ANY product that is made in North Korea, that can be had in the rest of the world? Doing a search really only turned up clothing. The others: ship builder (Nampo Shipyard), Auto (Pyeonghwa Motors)(Sungri Motor Plant), and a few other things are only in North Korea.

Edmund has been around here longer than most of the people on this board have been doing this for a living. Back before there was a custom installers lounge i imagine.

I sold just one mx900 on amazon back 2017, yes it was used. It is my remote of choice, I buy them used, 4 off of some one here, and use it myself. Nowsdays I like oem remotes from Roku and TiVo over universals.

I didn't realize Amazon has a used market. I guess I should have as I have seen some things marked used, but they were always from big Amazon merchants. I just figured they were dumping old stock or stuff they repaired.

How about the subject of the thread, pick on one model of URC made remote, and still sell so many others: [Link: amazon.com]

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions. |

It's on their current price sheet and in their current litetrature. Second, all URC remotes are manufactured in South Korea. [Link: ohsungec.com]

I have to say... has anyone EVER seen something made in "North Korea"? If I gave you a month, could you procure ANY piece of electronics (or in fact, anything at all) made there? Seems like a ridiculous, non-sensual email from Amazon.

Yeah, I don’t see North Korea turning out a big line of electronics

Well, I can see that no one should ever buy an MX – 990, because 70% of their reviews are one star! Every 1 star review is about programming software. The guy selling them should either include the software or state that it doesnt come with software in the ad. Titles of the 1 star reviews lol This remote doesn't come with the programming software and these third party sellers are not authorized by URC. NO END USER SOFTWARE AVAILABLE Don't Be a Hostage to this Remote!!!!! $150 minimum for every visit to program the remote!!! No programming software! WTH Costly to be programmed Consumer Rip-Off
