I'm surprised to hear that Luxul doesn't know about the issue. I am very familiar with the 3150 issue.

There was a manufacturing error affecting a decent amount of 3150s that triggers a memory dump upon reboot. This memory dump error was fixed with the latest firmware update.

I have so many 3150s deployed it would be too time consuming to go to each (that dont have VPN) and apply the update, so I just wait until I get the call and go fix it.

You have to get the 3150 emergency flash file from Luxul to flash the unit back to factory defaults (units affected by this hardware issue can't be reset with the button on the rear of the unit).

Once you flash the unit and re-set up the network and APs, update the 3150 to the latest firmware and you'll be good to go.

Call Luxul back, they know about this issue on the 3150s, have them walk you through the emergency restore file process.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if this was supposed to fix Hai issues as well? We got a call today with from a client with the same problem. He has a Hai Omni security panel instead of Honeywell.

Can Eero be used just for access point, keeping the Luxul router?
I have over 120 devices on my network... many of them wired and working, and some wifi with lots of dropouts

How many are in use at one time?

You might want to look at the network device throughput limits.

Define 'dropouts'- is it losing connection, lack of speed? Signal strength doesn't guarantee speed.

Could the dropouts be caused by lack of overlap?

The EERO app will ask if you're using it as a router or AP.

I had problems with some Luxul APs and when I called to ask about the low speed, I was told that it's not for each device on the network, it's for all channels so when the box for an XAP-310 shows "up to 300Mbps throughput", don't think that's what you'll see.

IMO, that's false advertising. I removed that AP and replaced it with EERO, with much better performance. Also, I can monitor the EERO I have installed from anywhere that has WiFi. Much better speed and more reliable service.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

In general, when I read AP specs the "speed" is the aggregate for all devices connecting on a segment. Speed for each device can be much lower than that.

The device running the speed test is in the mix too. I have an old laptop that never reports much above 300Mbps -- even with a wired connection. In the same environment my phone or pad can report 800+Mbps.
