Thanks for the response and the suggestion.

I've tried this now with three different code sets- one for my Sony Bluray (not a good plan in retrospect), one for a DVD HD, and one for a Pioneer BDP-120 that I got from a project in the discrete area... my Phillips database has NO Bluray at all in it.

All these options were learned successfully by the AppleTV.

They work fine to control the menu functions- up/down/left/right/OK/menu but don't work for play/pause/stop etc.

Any further suggestions welcome...

Thanks.

I do pretty much as you do, except I use a Denon DVD player. If you look carefully, the Apple TV will have you set up the cursors and the menu first. Then it will ask you if you want to do the transport buttons. That is a separate step.

Thanks...

Yes it is, and I did that too.

Am I by chance missing some other configuration that needs to be done to the AppleTV?

Didn't think to mention all these observations were using the Netflix app on the AppleTV.

Just thought to try Apple's Movie app and guess what; pause/play work fine.

Turns out the Apple remote doesn't seem to dependably pause/play in the Netflix app either... maybe an issue with the app.

Thanks for the responses.

Found this thread with the same issue [Link: discussions.apple.com]

Deleting and reloading the Netflix app worked fine for me too.

I have programmed an ATV 4K to work with a URC MX780. I understand the process, weird and unintuitive and unnecessarily complicated as it is. All ATV functions on the MX780 are from AUX 917 code list. When I attempt to teach the SELECT button to the AppleTV, the progress bar moves about 1/4 of the way and stops. I taught the MX780 a different code, (Yamaha RXV467 Main Power) without success. I have repeats set at 2 and repeat while pressed "on." I've tried it "off" as well. I was hoping to find some sort of reset function so I could delete all the learned codes in the Apple TV and start over, but I haven't had any success doing that.

When I first programmed the 780, the SELECT button was sending out too many repeats, so every time it was pressed it repeated the action twice.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

To avoid any conflicts, I use an old Denon DVD player code set and put it into the URC remote. Learning the denon codes in to the Apple TV is simple at that point.
