ive started the hunt for a 68-74 blazer/jimmy. i would prefer a 2 wheel drive over 4 wheel drive.
i have the suspension figured out and the drive train. 2 wheel drive
looks like ls3 motor and 4l80e trans if its a 2 wheel drive
if its a 4 wheel drive im not sure i could use this combination

That's just "laying frame".
It'll probably rise by some 12" when you want to drive down the road.
Hydraulics like that are pretty cool, and a pretty good theft deterrent too. A Theft deterrent because no one would want to steel that tacky looking thing or be caught dead riding in it LOL. Ya, that how I feel. Total waste. :) But, to each his own.

Spoken like a true Texas Boy, come on out here to So Cal and we will show you how its done, see that everyday several times a day driving down the road. For fun they try to scrape the road dots off the freeway.

If it's not a truck, it's not allowed in Texas, and it's custom if it has some horns on the front.... ;-)

Go to your local newstand store that has a huge magazine selection, there are magazines and parts catalogs out there that cater to this stuff.
I've always wanted to build a lowered 66 Chevy pickup.. sort of in this style: I'm in Colorado right now. This is on craigslist - drive it home from CEDIA. [Link: denver.craigslist.org]
