Thats pretty gutsy leaving a system with no written directions regardless of size, talk about asking for it. After years of experience in the pro market (board rooms, churches, etc) the Crestron always seemed to have the best reliability as well as support. Now in the consumer market unless it's just a huge system my choice would be Xantech for ease of use per room. Xantech doesnt have the flashiest product but it is rock solid and if done right is install it and move on to the next job. That's the kind of control I like! Oh Crestron in the Theater!

I havent the slightest idea what you mean here.... Xantech has a lot of cool handy black boxes, but not a single user friendly remote control.

You cant posibly mean you hand clients URC-2p's????? How do they control PVRs??? The Transport commands share the same buttons as the Navigation Buttons.....

Back to the Drawing board Xantech..............

Well your right about the remote part omitted that based on lack of info on equipment being used. I responded to this.

"Whats your opinion, The best Whole house Control System? Im looking to Carry a new line and ive heard good things about Panja. I need your "unbiased" opinion about your favorite, the product, training and support."

Xantech does make very reliable low cost whole house control.

Also I have no idea what your rep here is but thanks for the input

I hate to post the same response again but it still holds true. Elan and their VIA pannels work well for me. They are wired and limited in many ways but the price point is great and can do 80% of what Crestron and AMX can do. Programming is a breeze as well.

Xantech... Are they shipping those In-wall touchpanels yet? I didnt think they were..... I dont think anything else in there line could be considered "Whole House Control"

Elan.... The Price point isnt that great. If your doing stand alone one panel control systems, you can save a couple bucks ove a Crestron or AMX system, but even according to Elans own Original comparison sheet, once you get into a 6+ Zone system, the Crestron is Cheaper.

Ok, not that any of this really matters because in the long run I am not looking for disagreements.

However the Xantech MRC is shipping and has been for awhile. It is 8 source audio/video 8 zones 6x35watts it is also expandable up to 16zones as well as being RS232 controllable. The MRC Keypads are very customer friendly as well as back lit and programmable up to 40codes per button. Even if this new and improved system were not available the older yet rock solid ZPR68-10 and keypads work excellent in conjuction with "any remote". Not to mention easy source selection and a global key for all zones. I know these work I have installed them myself many times in the past.

I am not a Xantech junkie at all I sell and install other systems as well but when it comes to simplicity in use and the hands down best IR transfer out there Xantech is the leader.

Extron and Inline also have some interesting products for control. I've never used them for "Whole house control" due to the fact that I work for a university. However if anyone is looking for a descent way to control small presentation systems with relays, IR, and RS-232 control, check out the Medialink series at Extron. Inline has a cool product
that looks at IR commands and relay closures and allows you to translates those into RS232 commands. I think the model number is CTL101.
