I've just received a Pronto 9600 and I have a feeling I've made a terrible mistake and the programming of it is leaving me completely confused :\

The database doesn't seem to include any UK models? I was searching for a Pioneer PDP507XD and it just doesn't seem to have any codes for it.

Does everything have to be coded in using the original remotes?

I don't want anything particularly complicated the remote, control of the TV, a Pioneer DV600 DVD Player, a Pioneer VSX-LX50 AV Receiver and to use it for controlling Windows Media playlists?

Can anyone help me with any advice or codes for setting this up?

Choose an older american model, it will work aswell. Same for the receiver and DVD. Windows Media playlists will work in next version, but you will need the RFX9600 extender for it.

Edit:
Your reciever has no rs232 or ethernet, so those playlists won't work, atleast not on the remote.

No, I mean just using the remote for controlling Windows Media, via the WiFi?

I wanted this because it looks gorgeous and has an excellent screen.

How does one actually program the thing? :\

The MCE support coming in the next release of the software does not require the use of an extender. The extenders (RFX9600/RFX9400) are not used in this case just as they are not used for the Escient. The TSU9600 will be communicating directly with your MCE PC over IP via your wireless network. Also, so far as I know only music will be supported.

On the remote end via the editor you'll need to configure the Wireless Settings tab under System Properties to "Enable Wireless on the Pronto Control Panel with Wireless & Serial Extender(s) and/or Music Server(s) in Network Mode", then plugging in the WiFi Settings for your network. You'll also need to add the Windows Media Center device to your configuration file configuring it via its Properties/Settings tab. On the Settings tab of the Windows Media Center device you'll plug in the IP address of your MCE PC if using a static IP or the host name if using a dynamic IP. On the PC end Media Center Edition for XP or Vista will be required in addition to running a separate server application which Philips will be making available on their site for download.

If you could not tell, I'm quite excited myself regarding the upcoming MCE support. :-) Looking forward to being able to browse and play the music collection on my MCE PC without needing my projector and/or pc monitor turned on. Will be a very cool edition to my setup.

As posted in another thread by Lowpro. MCE will not require the RFX9600 extender. The TSU9600 will communicate Wi-fi to MCE.

I think I've made a mistake here, rather than regarding the MCE issue, I just needed some help, a little insight into how one actually programs the remote...?

If it is your first time working with a Pronto editor I'd highly recommend picking up The Ultimate Pronto Guide. While the guide references an earlier Pronto editor everything you learn is directly transferrable when it comes to programming in PEP, the editor for the TSU9600. PEP and the editors for the Pronto NG line, PENG/PPENG are virtually identical in so far as programming goes. Once you get your feet wet in that regard I'd suggest spending some time in the Pronto NG forums doing some forum searches. The Pronto NG forum has been around for much longer. As such, there is far more in the way of posts there regarding basic programming all of which can be applied when programming with PEP. You could also download some XCF and PCF files from the files section and check them out. I include PCF files here as there and not that many fully functional XCF files available in the TSU9600 files section as the TSU9600 is such a new remote. There are far more in the way of PCF files available which can be imported into PEP and examined.

Rightio, I managed to get the Sky+ programmed in and working by sending the codes via IR for it.

Now I've gotta just crack this whole macro thing ;(
