Very sleek remote. Same resolution as 9400 + smaller screen = crisper graphics.. I was displeased with the 9400 graphics (I was spoiled with the 9600 beforehand)..

I'm not too thrilled with being forced to use V2 with it. I've tried to avoid it like the plague. ProntoScript is a turnoff too. I use PS for way more than making modules to control equipment. All my device macros now are using PS calls and device states, and I use scripting for showing/hiding buttons and wait messages.

Still a nice-looking remote though. I'd much rather use something like this than the wizard-based 9200.

I think the firm keys look bloody weird though.. I don't know if I'm the only one thinking it just doesn't fit the rest of the design.

I hate to be "that guy" but any word on when this is going to be released? I am ready to pull the trigger on a 9200, but would be willing to wait a month or two if the 9300 was coming out soon.

This is what I was told from the Australian Importer,
"The TSU9300 we believe will be available for sale from around
April/May. The unit will be previewed at a tradeshow in Europe early
Feb and should go in to production late March."

I would imagine you would get it earlier in the US.

Looks very good, and the price should be attractive too! I am not clear from the above if this unit could potentially run a Squeezebox Duet receiver. If so, I'll get one as soon as the module comes out!!! :-)

The embedded scripts are the ones which you can directly put via the PEP software only. (Lutron/Escient e.t.c). Nothing else. No support for prontoscript.

9300 may be useful but why oh why can philips talk to the department Why create a PC interface for the 9200 that doesnt work more than 6" away from the PC? uses a different RF system to everything else and then cant work with really clever stuff like [Link: consumer.philips.com] which is really cool.... Why can a £120 remote work seamlessly with an Ipod yet a £1800 can't now the 9300 even more cut down it would be ideal if it could talk to servers etc ideal for secondry roomsin multiroom, I asume it can use the full range of RFX9600 features? The 9200 should be put out to grass but i dont think the 9300 is going to worry Logitech

I saw a 9300 at a training last week. The claim was that the 9300 will be available in the US soon, possibly later this month. The trainer could not give the final price, but his estimate indicated that it would be so close to the 9400 that I would prefer the 9400 because it supports ProntoScript and the 9300 does not.

PEP2 is simultaneously good, bad and ugly.

Good: New template facility, much easier artwork management, one could reformat a 9800 screen for a 9300 with relative ease. PEP2 gives a (massive) list of problems that need to be resolved when importing a PEP1 file. Easy to discover a problem command in a macro.

Bad: No links, but if you behaved yourself in PEP1 and used database codes, the links will be brought across on import. Massive list of import problems.

Ugly: Only one remote screen is visible, individually learned (non database) IR codes are not brought across, but are visible in the (massive) import problem log.

While I haven't tried it with my 512MB laptop, I have had no trouble simultaneously running PEP1 and PEP2 on my Vista 64 desktop.

MSRP is $799.99. Production was slated for the beginning of this month. I don't know when they will start shipping to the U.S.

Should have been $599. Not enough of a difference in price between it and the 9400.
