Hi all
What is the go with not being able to maximize the page.
I have a wide screen monitor & I lose part of the page at the bottom.
It also will not let me shrink the page with the use of my mouse.
Is there anyway to fix this?????

Regards

Do you mean the very bottom of the screen preview window is cut off, for example in the default configuration you can only see half of the lower hard button labels?

Tell me, when you select a button and click the LABEL tab on the Button Properties screen... do you have the same problem with the "Symbols" keyboard in the lower half?

In PEPv2, you have 1 of 2 options. A zoomed page or unzoomed page. You cannot resize any of the toolbar-like windows in the UI. Only the Main UI window can be resized.

A (sort of) related gripe about PEP2:

It does not "remember" the window size or placement on restart--it always opens at 0,0 and what looks like about 1024x750 px. Sure, a double click on the drag bar goes "full screen", but it would be nice for it to remember this (or any other size and location) when it is shut down cleanly like 90% of other, well behaved software.

Aside: for completeness, just checked what 1.0 did: Exactly the opposite; it goes "full screen" on startup and does not remember user settings either! Looks like a philosophical stance by the developers. Me, I like to place the user in charge--especially as the application code involved is trivial.

Hi Daniel
When the program starts up the bottom right section were it has position & size is only half shown on my screen..
It would of been nice to let the user be able to resize to there own personal preference as the PEP1 did.
Monitors do come in all different sizes.

I have a number of issues with how PEP2 renders, due to it not compensating for system settings. The exact same type of issues I had in ProntoEdit NG, and before that ProntoEdit. Eventually those were corrected, hopefully PEP2 will be as well...

Do most of you see this 'Black or White' size restriction as a minor encumbrance or do you (like me), find it immensely annoying?

I am lucky enough to have a 30" Apple monitor @2560x 1600. I realise this is by no means a typical set-up but I am faced with the following alternatives: -

1. I can have PEP 2.0 appearing as a window at the top left occupying about 25% of my screen or

2. It can be maximised in which case, it is not only far too wide but the inability to resize the internal sections means the Project Overview/Page properties etc only have25% of the vertical space.

The following is meant as genuine question: Did the developers hit a snag which forced them to implement these resrtrictions or am I missing a fundamental point and is there some rationale to what seems to me to be quite ridiculous?

You are lucky that you can resize the screen at the moment early betas were designed for an 800x600 display. I believe the team may be working on this but do not have an ETA on the timeframe of delivery.

Thanks for the response.

I attended an online training session day and the matter came up.

The trainer said it was to be addressed in the next update in December. I do hope this includes the ability to resize the internal windows/sections.

I failed to ask that second question as I did not have the heart to interrogate the chap any further - he was doing such a sterling job :))_

I may consider using PEPV2 when these changes come around. For now, I primarily use PEPV1 for EVERYTHING.
