I've just come across a page on the Pronto website that displays a list of current Pronto Level 3 installers (all of which are located in Europe/Asia) here:

Does anyone know anything about when this test is going to be available to the rest of us, the material to be tested, or anything on the testing process itself? I recall reading it might be a hands-on test?

Have not heard anything of Level 3 Cert. (Yet).

It is available but it's not on line you have to do it via someone like AWE EUROPE.
Its a practical exam and was told last week only 10 people have done the exam and six passed so far.

Whats needed is (of course) passed level 1 and 2 cert, and attendance at training classes held by distributor.

Great, my distri doesn't even know about L3.

Ok as I heard today, you need to have made several configurations, send them in and philips will grade your configuration. If they rate it high enough you will be granted level 3!

I'm gonna call my distri tomorrow (they do know about level 3) and I'll take the test. Hope to be a certified level 3 installer soon :)

Assuming you are a Pronto dealer, Level 3 requires a trip to your local distributor. In the UK you're presented with two systems in two different rooms and you're expected to create a fully functioning file controlling both within a couple of hours.

You're expected to have a good knowledge of IR, RS232 and the stock ProntoScript modules, but not ProntoScript (JavaScript) itself.

Unlike level 1/2, it's hands on and very thorough.

So it's must making 2 configurations for 2 remotes both controlling the other part of the system (that is meant for the specific room) So it's not even a multi-room on 1 remote (which can be a pain in the arse). I should be able to make that configuration within a few hours. I reckon the IR codes and rs232 protocols are provided? As are the stock prontoscripts?

Anyway, thank you for the information. I'm gonna call my distributor within the hour and get this all settled. So your assumption was correct.

Fair enough, doesn't sound hard though :S. Would have thought you would need to know prontoscript at least..

NEW level 3 is now available, must be level 2 certified, and request from the website under the Training certificates link.

Green Bay Custom Theater is now the first company is the U.S. to obtain their Philips Pronto Level 3 certification.

Congrats. I have not had the time to do the work. I wonder if writing a Media Server (Escient) interface in Javascript would qualify me. I think not so I need to get busy and do the work.

I'm not an installer but would like to have the Certification.

You'd think the work you have done would qualify you.
I would think that you and OnlyOneRemote should get one by default. :-)

Did you submit for the certification yet? It wasn't too bad. I spent about an hour a day on it for a week. I was mostly done after the first 2 days, but went through it again and again to make sure I have everything right. I spent a lot of time validating the configuration.
