Lyndel is correct. Sony control S is a baseband protocol
(the IR envelope without the carrier). Xantech makes
a device that does what you want. It accepts the same
signal as an emitter and puts out proper control S. It
is a small package 1x2x3 (inches) and is easy to place
behind your sony device or hide it anywhere. Xantech makes
several different forms of this little device to connect
it's IR network to different components without the use
of emitters. The part number of the device you want is
794-10. An emitter is much cheaper!
Much cheaper. Here's one from Ebay.
