Hi, I am very new to this, my previous remote was a Harmony 895

I'm struggling to get RS232 command from my remote (TSU9400) to my Amplifier (Cambridge Audio 640R)

I can tell from my RFX9600 LED's that the extender is receiving the codes from the remote and sending them to the RS232 outport that I have specified.

The code that I am inputing to turn the Amp on (as a test to see if things work is)

#1,01,1\r

This command, is meant to turn the Amp on and, is taken from here

[Link: cambridgeaudio.com]

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I'm using a 3m serial RS232 Female - Female cable I have also used the "Arrow" button to enter the "Backslash" "\r" bit at the end of the code.

Like I say the LED's on the RFX9600 indicate that a command has been received and, has indeed been processed by RS232 port 1 (I.E the one I have assigned).

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Mark

PS I have

Baud Rate of "9600"
Parity of "None"
Data Bits "8"
Stop Bits "1!

I don't see it in the Cambridge Audio RS232 spec, but do you know if you are supposed to use a straight through or crossover serial cable. That could make a difference. I have used RS232 and it seems some require straight through and some crossover. You code looks correct to me.

Many many thanks for the reply Gary,

By cross over do yo mean a "Null Modem" cable e.g one of these

Mark,

I think a null modem is a cross over cable. Try and find out which one Cambridge requires. For about $4 on the internet you can buy a small adapter which switches one from the other. You would have to do an internet search. I know I have used at least one in my setup.
