HI,
I have a HTPC running windows xp media center edition 2005 and i was wondering if i could control windows xp media center edition 2005 using my pocketPC?

I have a HP iPAQ h2215 Pocket PC

• Intel® XScale™ processor (400MHz)
• Windows Mobile 2003 Premium for Pocket PC
• 64MB SDRAM, 32MB Flash ROM
• Bluetooth® wireless technology
• 3.5" transflective TFT screen with LED backlight
• SD and CF slots
• 900 mAh battery



Please help!!!!!

You may want to post this in the PPC forum - that's the correct forum. there are verious programs you can use (for the PPC) to do what you want.

One way to do this would be using the NEVO software. Go to www.mynevo.com for more info. However, I need to warn you.

You might not like using a Pocket PC as a remote. Pocket PCs do have an IR transmitter but they are low power compared to the transmitters inside a dedicated remote. The transmitter inside a PPC is used to communicate with another device over short distances (1ft or so) not to beam the signal clear across a room.

However, I hear some newer PPC's have been incorporating better IR transmitters. Still not equivalent to a dedicated remote but better than something that only has a few feet of range.

The IR tx of the iPaq 2215 is of the Consumer IR variety. It's every bit as good as any standard consumer remote. Nevo ships with the 2215 in fact, so the original poster would already have IR software installed. It's not very good software, but it's there.

And this is still the wrong forum for this thread.
