Other than this thread, is there a help forum for prodigy systems? Or other good places to go?

Does the IR in work? is it just for learning or can it be used as a pass-through?

I setup a system with a Rotel RSP1560 receiver. I'm using Com1 and the crestron .UMC module for control. The receiver won't respond to RS232 commands. All settings are correct and the pinout appears to be correct.
I seem to remember getting around this once before, but its been a while.
Anyone familiar with Rotel and Prodigy.

Is there a forum where people share prodigy files/templates.

Blu Ray players are a pain. I'm setting up a samsung (same on sony) and need access to the Red, Green, Blue, Yellow buttons and options and a few other buttons that don't populate automatically. Is there a way to force this so I don't have to modify the simplest of systems with System Builder?

It says in the documentation that it is for future use. I've never attempted to use it so I couldn't say for sure.

I know with Integra, I had to turn on the 232 mode in the menu. I'd assume you've already tried that.

This one is all I could find. I've gotten some IR files from the Yahoo Crestron Group, but they aren't usually helping out a lot with prodigy over there. I know Motech has personally passed along a Prodigy file he was doing that really helped me get over the hump on a few things. If you've got anymore particular questions, ask away. I'll help whenever possible.

Yeah, BluRay (specifically Samsung) sucks in Prodigy. I don't think there's a way you'll be able to add the colored buttons without going into system builder. You can change the IR file, but it's not going to add them to the screen. Pretty easy to add in system builder though.

Will the color buttons automatically populate with any other brand?

I've only ever tried Samsung and Panasonic. I don't think they will as all are based on the DVD Player template. You'd have to use a different template, and even then the buttons wouldn't auto-populate/join without you going into systembuilder and linking them.

That's my $0.02, maybe someone else has a different opinion.

The Crestron Destiny Template actually has a Bluray Page, for some reason it just doesn't show up in SB. What I did was opened the PTX VTPro file directly [ Crestron-> Cresdb-> Templates-> SystemBuilder-> PTX3 Destiny], then opened the PTX3 Destiny Template file and copied and pasted the Bluray Template page over to the PTX3 file in my project. Then opened in SB and cleaned up commands.

Worked great!

Here is a screen shot of the Tempalte - I changed up the button labels a little, changed AUDIO to SUBTITLES and I took off DISPLAY also, changed it to INTERNET - for the Samsung Apps features.

Could you save this as a template? Then modify your ir file to use this template? So that each time you built a new system the page would display properly.
Just looking for ways to speed up simple installations.

Has anyone successfully integrated prodigy into a nuvo system?

I have a customer that had a Nuvo system installed and got our email blast about becoming prodigy dealers and he would like us to integrate Nuvo with prodigy system.

Nuvo was installed a month ago, way to new to replace with crestrons DA

Worst case, you can sell PRodigy like you would have a URC/RTI remote with nuvo, as a Home Theater/Lighting controller.

I'm positive you could connect to the Nuvo system and get feedback for the PTX3 or iPad's or whatever, but probably need a SIMPL programmer to get it don't effectively and efficiently....jsut charge accordingly and your good to go.

Two things. Please post any new things from Cedia in here.

2nd. Has anyone put two PMC2's in a home? Not linked together, but two stand alone systems in one home.....on ONE NETWORK?

Can this be done. I have a job that would be perfect for three stand alone systems....hopefully some day they can link together. The concern I have is in setting up the devices. Its basically three stand alone systems in one house, Theater, Family & Master. Currently they have MX950's (BLAH!) and the client is ready for an upgrade. I want to do Prodigy b/c it will work now what he needs but leaves room for improvement, especially if these three systems can talk some day.

Thanks for the info on Nuvo, I am sure it will work just not as seamless and clean as having Crestron doing the DA

Yes please do post new prodigy finding's at cedia here, I am curious as to what features they might have added, im guessing via firmware if any at all.

As far as them talking to each other, I cant imagine this is far off. That would really open the system up a bit but still would keep it within its realm of possibilities.

T-minus three weeks until I get my system, I dont think I have been this excited in a While.

Perhaps this isnt a place to post this, maybe this is better suited as a PM. But until my rep gets back from Cedia I am curious if Creston offers adagio/prodigy model home packages. The builder I have been working closely with now (goes back to my rg59/single coax and zeevee thread) Has offered me to outfit his new model home (just breaking ground) with electronics and I am thinking this will be an awesome opportunity for prodigy maybe even adagio. Were still ironing out the details but he is willing to pay for everything too, The only thing he asked is if we could cut down our labor rate a bit which I will gladly except.
