Thanks..

I just looked back in the posts and seen all the things you are wanting to control.
Although the MX-990 can easily work all of that, for someone that appears to not have much knowledge of control systems, this is going to be a long & difficult journey.

Is there a drop down screen that goes in front of the Sony TV? Or are we talking about 2 different rooms?

How are you setting up the Home page to work for the 2 different viewing situations?

I made a page for my devices, big screen on right side of the page and the 55 inch on the left so I can easily switch between screens and devices.

Being how you system is layed out, the method you used on the Home screen probably works out best.

I seen in the other thread, they already have you on the right track to control your Shield.

That center speaker is killing me. It is to far from the viewing screen and more than 10° difference vertically from the left & right tweeters.
If it were me, I would see about getting a stand that matched the color and texture of the AV cabinet, then stick that center channel on it to get it to the right height. If that looked to creepy, then I would see about mounting the center channel straight to the wall just under the screen.
Also some blocks to put the towers on to raise them a little.
I see why you put the screen as high as you did (that light switch). But you can get some pretty cheap automated switches to replace that switch with and control it from another location. That way the screen could have been mounted a little lower.

Yes i have the remote set up pretty good, i keep finding things to add to the program though. I don't use that light switch because I have 4 WIFI lights in the starfield, I have been wanting to lower the screen just above the top of the floor speakers but I am planning on getting a Laser ultra short throw soon so ill probably have to adjust for that. I've been wondering where the center channel will go when I get the Laser projector since it has to be centered on the AV cabinet.
Mounting the center channel to the wall is probably my only option?

Oh besides the Shield not programmed my projector doesn't work. I thought the base blaster would be enough to blast across and up to my Epson projector but it does not.

I want to thank you you guys for your help in setting up my MX-990. I was using a MX-500 but always wanted a RF remote. I love the 990 so much that I found a 2nd 990 for the bedroom , I know its overkill but my wife loves it and it will serve as a backup for my theater room 990.

I needed 2 more rooms with DTV and have a Genie 2 on the way and will have 6 rooms with the mini receiver's.
My question is does the Genie 2 system use the same codes as Genie 1?

Yes. All the DirecTV receivers use the same code set. At least in the last 10 years or so.

The only difference would be the DirecTV/AT&T streaming boxes. But that is a completely different service from their sat system. Believe those boxes use Android TV codes (same as the Shield).

I switched from DirecTV sat to DirecTV streaming using the Gemini stream box and use the same universal remote (MX-850) and the same codes as the sat boxes. One can also use a remote from DirecTV sat to control the streaming box - all IR.

I'm actually switching to DirecTV Stream myself tomorrow. I didn't know the codes from my current setup would work either! That's going to make reprogramming much easier.

So what do you think needs to be changed? It was completely seamless for me.
