Is there a sensitivity setting for the MX850. I just got it and have it set up to control a couple HR20-700 dvrs. I use rf and it seems that the buttons send multiple commands(ie; press "FF" and it skips to x2, x3 or x4 while holding the button down) no matter how careful I am with pressing the buttons. I've tried putting the tape w/hole over the ir detector since some say that it can be overloaded but that didn't help. The mrf250 receiver is about 12ft away and you can see the unit so I don't think it is a bad rf signal. When I use the manufacturer remote (RC34) I don't have the problem? Would appreciate any assistance. Thanks

Did you learn the commands in yourself or did you use database codes? If you learned them in, try relearning them until they work properly.

Use the H20 device in the database.
Remember when learning commands that you're supposed to hold the button down until you see "good" ... and do your best to eliminate any echoes or interference when doing the learning.

Had the same problem when accessing channels it would repeat the number entered. Hot glued the flasher to the right of the IR pickup window and also put a thin strip of black electrical tape on the side of the flasher facing the IR pickup window. This toned down the IR output enough to stop the repeating of channel numbers entered on the numerical keypad.
Hope this helps

Oh good point. Always test your learned codes in IR only mode without any sort of MRF unit involved. There are definately issues with IR sensitivity and the HR20, and even with the flasher against the side of the rack perpindicular to the sensor, it's still unreliable at times (favorite channel macros are the killer).
I actually had my most success when I had my MRF unit on the opposite side of the room pointing at my A/V rack, this seems to be most like just pointing the remote.
