I have set up all the devices which seem to work (all the discrete on / off work except for my iScanHD) and have set up 5 pages of favorites, but am having problems. I am upgrading from an MX-700.

1. For some reason only 3 pages of favorites are showing up on the remote when I download the file. All 5 pages have been set up with commands (e.g. channel numbers) and logos.

2. I am not sure if the remote is too fast but the units are not switching "on" when I use the activity macro, in the browser it shows that everything should be switching on in the right order and the individual devices seem to work.

I have reset the remote and downloaded the file again and still the same problem.

Can anybody help. How do I know if I have the latest version of the software. When I downloaded the software the first time last week it did automatically update.

With respect to the first issue, I found that I could not get more than two pages of favorites with my PVR as the device for the activity, but when I used a non-PVR device, it's no problem. For me, since the Motorola DCT6416 uses the exact same codeset as the non-PVR 6200, when I used it as a device and then created the favorites, I have 6 pages without a hitch.

On the second, try using the Universal Browser to add delays to your activity macros.

I tried using the same cable box as you have and just re learnt the commands but I still get only 3 of the 5 pages of favorites?

Odd ... I've only had the problem with the PVR, not with anything else (my XM also has several pages of favorites). Sorry, no other suggestions.

I have had the same two problems with MX-810. I set up 8 full pages of channel logos for my "Sat Favorites" activity, and while they're all there in the software, I only get two pages on the remote.

I got my MX-810 from Mike at Surf Remote Control, and he has been great in helping me through some issues (I highly recommend "Surf"). Since I set up the first couple of pages, saved them, and came back later to finish the rest, Mike thinks that maybe I should setup a new file, and redo all the channel favorite pages in one shot to see if that does the trick.

The issue about inconsistant macro performance is a bigger issue for me. Sometimes all the activity macros perform perfectly, but about 50% of the time they may only perform the first power on command, and then nothing else. I went back into "Tune Up" and added 300ms delays between each command on each activity macro. Unfortunately, the macro inconsistancy has remained. I will go back and add longer delays to see if that will help, but if it doesn't, well that would be a deal-breaker for me.

Re: missing pages - Make sure that all the soft buttons have commands on them. I have had this problem when you have a button that has a picture but no command.

Re: delay - Have you tried increasing the power up time for your devices with inputs? This should be easier to work with than inserting delays manually.

The favorites issue is a known problem on the 810. It's been an issue since the remote shipped and has not been fixed yet.

I guess I will have to wait for a firmware fix for the favorites as have tried all that has been recommended here?

I will try increasing the power up time for the macros.

Anybody have an idea how often we get firmwre updates (based on the other remotes)?

Has anyone found a workaround for the missing pages issue? I've tried creating new activities and ensuring that each button has a command before moving to the browser and editing with the actual macro that I want. Still no luck. It looks correct on the wizard but is missing random pages on the remote.

Sorry Jon, I don't have that issue as I tried to figure out what's wrong with your favorites. When you go to Activity Macros, and hit edit favorites, is everything you want there including the SAT or Cable channels? If they are there, and it still doesn't work call Universal. Sorry.
