Is anyone else having issues with placement of station logo's in the edit favorites section of the MX-810? This one is driving me nuts as I wasted an hour trying to setup a client's favorites.

Firstly, I downloaded a file with almost every TV station icon and placed it in the proper file folder and it's working great, but I have added the mostly used icons to the "blank" window since there's only 8 color blanks there. Now I don't have to scroll through hundreds of national channels, and frequently used icons are right there such as CNN, TNT, TBS, HDNET, ESPN, etc... Thank you to whom ever posted the icon database!

The 810 has six favorite buttons for each of the 8 pages. I have two pages filled up and I want to add more, however when I try to drag and drop in favorites to page 3, it over randomly over writes some icons on pages 1 & 2, then I have either reload or remember which icons go where? What I've been trying to do is identify each button by setting the channel number on the side of each logo window to help, but it doesn't help when I can't get the logo's in the right position...

Anyone else experience this yet?

Yes, its a bug. It is not random though. It overwrites to the left.

Once it overwrites it will start putting it in the correct place. It is pretty annoying but not impossible to work around since in most cases you will not change your favorites that often.

Ah thank you Dalto. So I'm not crazy...

It does randomly overwrite to the left! So I now have to fill all the icons up and then work right to left? Aw man this is annoying and a must fix!

I also just noticed that the edits you make don't save if you don't put a logo there. I just entered numbers for all eight pages, saved, and then went back in to add the TV icons, and the channel numbers were gone? Crap.

I suggest mapping out everything you want before setting it up and hopefully you won't have to change anything. Until these issues are addressed, editing is a problem. The only safe way is to recreate all of the favorites.

Mike,
Sorry but I don't understand what to do from what you said. If I want to load 4 pages of favorite channels, what should I do and in what order?

Thanks,
Rick

Program all four pages, but make sure they're all full. The point is that editing can cause problems with what's replaced and/or displayed, so it's best to get it right the first time.

Clearly the way to go Mike, that's what I now do. I made a print out from Excel mapping out all 6 button/8 pages of the favorites section. I manually pencil in each clients favs and then proceed to drag and drop the TV icons. It seems a bit tedious but saves time in the long run.

It's funny, I just started to program a new MX-810 for another client and didn't run into any problems of the icons defaulting to the left? It programmed perfectly? I wonder if the database component selection has anything to do with it? For instance the Motorola cable box worked fine, but when trying to drop in icons for Dishnetwork favorites all hell broke loose, and it defaulting icons to the left?

Does anyone have a link to MX-810 Sirius(dishnetwork) buttons? I've spent about 10 hours making my own, and they look pretty good but I've seen some others that just jump off the page!

Can you do this starting with page 1, or do you start from the rear and work forward to page 1?

Could you direct me to the site where you downloaded TV Station .pngs? I have searched and can't find it! Thanks.

You can always go to dish's sight, click on the station you want in the 'everything' list, then drag the icon from the page to your desktop. You'll need to convert and resize it, but it is a place to start.
