I'll have to do some digging around, but I believe (99% sure) that the codes I used for HDMI selection (discrete, not HDMI toggle) came from here.
As for the signal quality, it's digital. It won't be affected. Just make sure your receiver's output resolution is set to "through" so it doesn't tinker w/ anything.
