I've been doing some research of my own, and there appears that NONE of the DVD Recorders out there with ATSC tuner can pass-through off-the-air HD signal to a TV via any port (HDMI, Component, etc.). They all take the 1080i/720p off-the-air content, downgrade it to 480p and then upconvert it back to 1080i/720p via HDMI. This has been a major dissapointment for me as the only option seems to be getting a standalone ATSC tuner that does the job right, or make sure not to buy the so-called "HD-Ready" monitors again.
I can understand that regular DVDs cannot record native HD content so they downconvert the signal, but why handicap these tuner's outputs when you are paying for the ATSC tuner built-in?
