After checking every possible problem it turns out "Radio Shack" sold me a straight through cable instead of a null cable that I specificly asked for #!*!!#*!!...... I didn't even think to check the box for a "null" description. SHAME ON ME... I will let you know how I fair when I get somewhere and pick up the right cable. I am confident it will work fine with the "RIGHT" cable....
