A few questions-do you have any other RS232 on the RFX9600 already working? If not, have you updated the firmware in the RFX9600? Are you sure that it (the meridian) needs a null cable? The Lutron processors do not, Netsreams does, so that is always a possibility.
Not familiar with meridian protocol so i cannot help yoou there but it sounds like either a command string problem, firmware (which does affect 232), or cable pin error could all be possible causes.
Hope you find out what it is.
