As a matter of practice Sont generally includes all of the discrete codes in their IR Receive circuitry. The remote has limited button real estate so many of the duscrete codes are provided as toggles, or steppers, or via menu navigation.

A program like MakeHEX can take these values (the Device code (1, 3, 151, 164,..) and the key code and produce the proper Pronto Hex pattern. They can also be hand fabricated once you understand the Sony IR protocol and how Pronto Hex is constructed.
