Hi All,

I've just bought an 9600 from eBay, and after it crashed the moment I plugged it in to the dock, I thought I'd better check the power supply (since it didn't have Philips written on it, but I know that these things are often bought in.). It runs fine out of the dock.

It seems to be made by a company called AMC, and is 9v, 800mA, +ve centre. What worries me is that the dock is marked up as 5v, 2A. I'm hoping that the overstressed PSU couldn't achieve much more than 5v and hasn't caused any permanent damage (other than perhaps a decrease in lifetime equivalent to a 40 a day habit).

Can anyone tell me what the markings are on their PSU? European or US; it's the output I'm after.

Any answers would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark.

PS: This spares site seems to imply that it should have been an official Philips part:
