I would reccondmend 8-10 ft away from anything that puts out rf interferents ( cable box, sat boxes and plasma's ) works the good . I would take cat 5 and bring the rfx-150 to the back of the room or in an attic or basement this isn't always possible but if you can i would. Also if the sa cable box is the 8300 hd that will give the remote rf problems. rf can be a little tricky but if you take a few easy steps it should be fine. last but not least don't turn the gain on the rfx150 to high only a quarter to half way if the base station is in the same as you.
