The remote with the newer OS allows to also adjust the
contrast, not just the brightness level. This results
is a crisper screen. I was hoping I could add this feature
also to the one with the lightly older OS (just by a few
days BTW).
How old is the older remote? Remember that at some point in the past they did start putting a better screen in the 3000s. Some of the early ones had a screen that was noticeably different. This may not be due to the OS version allowing contrast control, but a different screen.
If you look under the battery there is a sticker with a build date that starts with something like 112505 which would be Nov 25, 2005. Check your build dates to see how much different they are.
