The dish network PVR is both IR and RF. You don't need to use an RF remote to control the PVR unless you want to control it from another room. Either Pronto will control the PVR with IR signals.

The 3000 is the newer model and has a few extra features mot found on the 2000....
You can use the whole screen for designing your remote layout.
It has a lot more hard buttons on it.
The display is a little brighter and a shade bluer.
The touch screen in my opinion is more sensitive.
It uses 16 shades of grey for the display compared to 4 for the 2000.
It is a little lighter.
A lot of the people on this forum will argue with me on this, but I prefer the 3000 software over the 2000. If a person started with the 3000 software and had to switch over to the 2000 software, I bet they would be compaining about a lot more than they are now. It does have a couple of minor bugs that will be fixed over time.

I'ver use a 2000 for a couple of years, but it is going into retirement.
