You dont need to convert. I just did a Hitachi a few weeks ago and if I remember correctly, when I learned in the toggle power it gave me a code that started w/ 9001 (or something similer) instead of the normal 0000 for raw data. Copy/paste that code to as many buttons as you need and then edit the last 4 digits (3EC1) of each button to the corrosponding code that you need, re-lable, ... like magic.

I never saw the end result of my doing this because the remote was for a friend out of state but 3 weeks later and no WTF calls... no news is good news, right. Accually, from everything I've learned and understand from the IR experts like John and others, I would think this will work just fine.
