My FiOS uses a Motorola QIP2500 set top box. It is not high def. I am not familiar with a "7500", at least in my area standard is the QIP2500, and HiDef is QIP6200, or 6416 with DVR. Perhaps the "7500" is a new box?
Is there some reason you can not "learn" the codes from the provided remote? I had no problem doing it in that manner.
