Tried the long press trick, didn't work, on ANY of the Pronto's. I'ved used it most often on 6000's and 7000 series. You can also use a small delay of up to .3 and it will still turn on. Fewer than 3 ON commands and it won't turn on. OFF commands always work with one shot. I'm not a hex guru, but understand the principal. Duration of the ON command makes no difference on an NG remote. FWIW, this is the command I've used for years, came from an old discrete ccf posted here. Works great.

If you can make a better one out of it, I'll be glad to test it out. This works on almost every Panasonic and Toshiba plasma I've run across, including my 6 year old model, so it would help out many others here.
