wonderful, wonderful, thanks for the answer. I think that has decided it. I need a new amp and it is the Denon 3802. Will probably use my old Denon amp to power the multi room stuff as it has an A/B switch that will allow me to cover both the bathroom and kitchen.

Will also mail Denon to say this was one of the key buying decisions (as well as sound quality) to ensure they are aware people want discrete codes for everything.
