Are your digital inputs assignable? If they are that should solve your problem.

DVDto DVD
Sat to TV
DVD RECto VID two assign digital input.

Or DVD recorder digital output to CD digital in, video to TV
CD input to Tape or unused input.

why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!
