Why, how many consumer oriented headsets have XLR connectors on them?
Why would a manufacturer use an XLR3 for a headphone connection, knowing that it is a standard microphone connector?
The neutrik connectors you're so impressed with are used, primarily, on mixing consoles for balanced mic/line inputs.....not headphone outputs.
