RF is almost never a MUST... A simple IR repeater solves the above problem. At the same time, reliable, RF transmission is REALLY nice ;-). If you are careful/inventive with the placement of the "reciever", something with the IR output of a Pronto will almost never "miss" a code. A common location for such a reciever is at the top of a TV, in a top corner or between the center channel and TV. Of course IR repeaters aren't free either.
Speaking of IR output strength, how is the relative IR output strenth of the RTI T2 as compared to say a Pronto?
