Not really. You are limited to the shades in the graphics you use. If you use the default graphics in the Pronto, or find others via the files section of this site, you will have to use the shading in those graphics.
You can create your own, or limit yourself to gallery items that are black and white. I have not bothered to create any graphics yet and have been programming these for about four years now. I just go for the high contrast items in the galleries, or create buttons that are simply white letters in black rectangles, which you can do in PE.
