you have just described what irritates me about EVERY ad illustration I have ever seen for an LCD remote. This started with the Lexicon, and includes the Pronto, Marantz, even Crestron panels. LCD TV ads would also be as misleading, except there are so many pixels that the camera can back up (or that the photograph substituted for the LCD image looks close enough to the real thing).

I decided early on that the TS1000 was a three-color device: black, white and confusing. I decided not to use "confusing."

None of my clients had problems with two-color artwork; most of them had problems, or the remote just did not look right, if I tried to use the intermediate shades of gray.

I have only found the TS2000 to be a little better.
