David C., You are confusing two different machines. This thead is about the Directv/TiVo combo unit. You are thinking of the new Sony (SVR 2000) brand stand alone unit. The combo will not have inputs for a second antenna source like cable or roof top. The Sony will but it is not a Directv/TiVo combo. It is simply a Sony brand 30 hour TiVo much like the one Phillips now makes.
