Sorry, I had assumed this was a Canadian based
board.

It's international, and I think it is indeed based in Canada, so you got most of that right. The issue is not that you are in Canada, it is that you are asking how to get programming in a country in which a person cannot be licensed to get that programming.

I should of been more clear.

If DirecTV was available to me, I would gladly
pay for it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately when I tried,
I was told that they aren't allowed to give access to
Canada.

Yeah, indeed, the problem.

So, I was looking for a 'fix' as it were.....
a new 'script'.... testing. Whatever you call
it. I just prefer U.S. television to CND television.

What I don't understand is how putting words in quotation marks will change them -- you want US-licensed programming in Canada. It will take doing what I already outlined, or an understanding friend in the States, plus smuggling a receiver into and out of Canada any time any kind of update might be needed. Don't even THINK about TiVo with its daily need to call home.

This may be the wrong board for this stuff - if
it is, I apoligize.

I don't think it is the wrong board. You are just stuck with advertisers and stations not agreeing that you can have the programs. A pity and sort of dumb, actually.

I'm just looking for a way to have DirecTV again
- Period.
Mike

I wish you luck.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
