It is easy to not realize, as a new poster, that there can be many different models of a particular item, even of a particular brand of particular item, so the model number is not given.

But since you did not mention the actual model number, it is really impossible to be sure any answer we give you is accurate. A bit of googling gives one possibility, although probably the wrong one (what IS that model number, anyway?), being the
AVS-5811. Its manual can be found at [Link: smarthome.com], but that manual mentions nothing about channels.

Please give us the model number.

Different channels should allow you to run the video to different locations, and keep it separate, along with the IR signals. I don't understand the problem. Uh, what was that model number again?
