I just got the Kenwood 5900, cost a bunch but it is the coolest thing since sliced bread. I wasn't sure from other forums if Progressive would make a difference, some said yes, some no. I have a Mitsubishi Diamond 55" and I guess the internal doubler isn't all that wonderful. Adding the kenwood with the Faroudja Chipset made a 'HUGE' difference to the picture quality. It is a little slow in getting going (like 5-10 secs to play a disk) but then its fine. It has a serial port to hook to a laptop to get the DVD names into the database, comes with a wireless keyboard. Has 3 slots for rental disks so you don't have to put them in your collection. Plays MP3's as stated above. It is huge itself I don't have the specs but it barely fit in my rack (front to back dimension) I love it. Lowest authorized price is pretty high though at about 1400 bucks. Good luck
