Or Kenwood 5900 or 5050. BOth are 400+3 CD/DVD changers, progressive scan. Play MP3's and much more.

You have a few choices, which one you choose depends on your needs and budget. My DVD player right now is a JVC XV-FA92SL which is a seven disc carousel type progressive scan player which does DVD-Audio. I think its an excellent player for the money and JVC is a reputable brand as well.

I just got the Kenwood 5900, cost a bunch but it is the coolest thing since sliced bread. I wasn't sure from other forums if Progressive would make a difference, some said yes, some no. I have a Mitsubishi Diamond 55" and I guess the internal doubler isn't all that wonderful. Adding the kenwood with the Faroudja Chipset made a 'HUGE' difference to the picture quality. It is a little slow in getting going (like 5-10 secs to play a disk) but then its fine. It has a serial port to hook to a laptop to get the DVD names into the database, comes with a wireless keyboard. Has 3 slots for rental disks so you don't have to put them in your collection. Plays MP3's as stated above. It is huge itself I don't have the specs but it barely fit in my rack (front to back dimension) I love it. Lowest authorized price is pretty high though at about 1400 bucks. Good luck

The JVC works fine, but is noisy when changing discs and its going to break soon, real soon.
It's such a fine line between stupid, and clever.

I retract my Denon DVM 4800 hands down statement. I had problems with mine and sent it back. Come to find out there have been a lot of returns of this unit. Panasonic made Denon's DVD players until recently. Now they make there own and are having some problems. The Kenwood stuff is really cool but $1500 to get unit that plays DVD progressive and DVD Audio. I went back to single player Toshiba SD9200.

Now, I am willing to give you that the changer mechanism on the JVC is noisy (Hell, the term "agricultural" is what I use to describe the noise it makes) but so far (three months of pretty constant use) not a glitch yet. I bought a 4 year extended warranty on it just in case though (But that's my nature on any major purchases, my car's extended warranty has paid for itself for example :P)
