I have the Sony333ES DTS/DD receiver,and i compared the sounds of the DTS vs. DD encodings on the Avia and the Private Ryan DVDs.
I detected no difference in sub output levels based on dig.method (using a Sunfire)
like larry says, is it specific to one DVD where you can compare DTS vs DD? if so, get another and test again...
