thank you for your response. i am using the wrong terminology. i am looking to take the basic cable signal that i get now with a standard coaxial cable, run it through a processor, either a receiver or stand a alone processor, whichever is cheaper, to make the picture on my hd tv better. i had understood that the yamaha rx-z9 had this capability, but have been told by others that it would not. does this clarify. thanks
