Surround effects ?= DSP models (like Hall, Arena, etc.)
You're missing a LOT by not having Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1. Not only are those sound formats night and day compared to Pro Logic, but the technology used in today's receivers is a LOT better than that in decade-old models (and will sound much better, assuming you get a decent model).
